Olympics of Comedy

The Olympics are here and no one cares. So go to the theater were the cool shit is at. For some reason all the good Comedies were saved till the end of the summer. When 3 films all competing for the same audience came out in 3 consecutive weeks. There all rated R and appeal to young males. Which should you see? Here’s the medal placement for the top contenders.

Bronze: Tropical Thunder-
I love Vietnam movies; I’ve seen almost all of them. This is a great concept; the genre was ripe for a good spoof. Unlike those Epic, Disaster, and Spartan movies which simply shit out the scenes from better films, this actually has laughs. There is Inspired casting, Robert Downey as a black guy. Jack Black as always is awesome. Ben Stiller wrote, directed, and stars. Excellent cameos Tom Cruise is actually funny. This one is a Stiller comedy that is actually good.

Silver: Step Brothers-
Ferrell & Reilly reunite to make us feel better about our immaturity. They co-wrote the thing with Adam McKay (Talladega & Anchorman). What was Talladega Nights lacking: an R rating to let the muse run wild screaming thru the fields or in this case the house. I could really relate to this film. It has an important message for all kids out their. Don’t give up the dream of juvenile behavior! It can be yours if you really want it. I’m coming out of adult retirement.

Gold: Pineapple Express-
Seth Rogan returns (writing & staring) to save James Franco from the Spiderman franchise. It’s a stoner action movie, the first of its kind I can recall. Lots of guns and fights scenes all while the charters are high. I talked to some girls who said it was too violent but fuck em what they know. It’s a guy’s flick for dudes that are to lazy too actually fight. This movie is what Hot Fuzz should have been. It feels like something one my friends would have come up with. The film felt real to me despite the action scenes. The movie's about the value of good friends done in the gayest way possible.

Get your ass to the multiplex. Their all worth the money. you know theres nothing else to do. Chunk bring your kid.
