Old and New Collide!!

Heard that, maybe.

Since I got post regarding movies up in here I wanted to start something with music. However, the force is not so strong with me on the subject. I mean I may know more than Rick but that's not good enough for me.

So, maybe, we can all spotlight one album that we are currently listening too. Now, I'm sure in that Charles Town house, you guys know what everyone is listening too and watching but it would make everyone super duper cooler if you could just throw a band name with album as a comment.

That's it. Band name and album. New school or old, don't matter. Help me help myself. I thank you in advance.

Oh, a quick comment about TV on the Radio - I love the song Red Dress. $$$$$

Sunshine Cleaning

http://nolomos.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/sunshine-cleaning-trailer.jpgEmily Blunt is engaged to John Krasinski - that lucky bastard

I liked this movie. See this movie.

And when you see it let me know if Amy Adams reminds you of Pam from the Office. Not Jenna Fischer but Pam. Maybe I was just on an Office kick from hearing about the above engagement but Adams acting just reminded me of Pam. ???

Good:
Amy Adams and Emily Blunt - both pretty hot (one more then the other) and both worked well with each other.
I loved the job they got. Has anyone ever heard of or seen a movie or know a person that cleans up crime scenes? Seems pretty cool just not for me.
Lastly, I really love when a movie just flows. Sunshine Cleaning only lasted about 1.30 but everything just went well together. Definitely enjoyable

Bad:
Here is where it gets tricky. This movie is not for everyone and they may find more wrong with it then I but the only thing I can think of is that Alan Arkin played the exact same role as he did in Little Miss Sunshine. It's not really bad it just annoyed me.

A quick background on my rating system:
It's out of 5 V's
Rewatchability (maybe I made that word up) is a huge deal to me and will be when I decide how to rate movies.

Never will I ever see...

I Know Who Killed Me

another Lindsay Lohan movie.

I saw this movie a very long time ago and have seen a couple of her movies before and came to the conclusion that I will never see another one of her movies again. Period.

I make this claim knowing that she is going to be in the new Robert Rodriguez movie Machete but I don't care.

It's got Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal and Lindsay Lohan?? (and De Niro but I'm spotlighting the bad peep here so simmer down)
What the fuck Rob?

And by the way, I Know Who Killed Me has Julia Ormond in it and that's why I watched it in the first place. The story really wasn't bad but thanks to train wreck Lohan, it was gut wrenching to watch. Her raspy voice and terrible acting was rough but I could sware I smelled her alcoholic breath all the way through the TV.

Do not see that movie. And please join me in boycotting LL.

In Danger we Trust

Surveillance

Surveillance

It starts - the ending I mean.

I'm going to go along with Rick $$ and throw some movie info up in here. I will review, at least once or twice a week, only movies out of the theater. New releases, movies that I randomly come across thanks to Netflix that sort of thing. Now, in my reviews, I will spotlight what was good and bad and then give a "V" rating at the end. I really just to get my point across and give you positive and negative so you can determine if you want to see the movie or not.

So without further delay:

The title for my first review is above. I don't remember when I put this movie in my queue but it just became available and I did so because of what I learned from Rick %% and that is by following Actors or Actresses throughout their career.

I like Julia Ormond. She's hot and I loved the Prime Gig and special thanks to my Mom for watching First Knight a million times which helped me fall in love with her as
Guinevere.

Good:
Julia Ormond. Hot actresses like her who can actually act is such a welcomed addition to any movie. She really helps Bill Pullman out a lot.
The ending. You didn't see it coming. Stop lying.
The backwards movement. Memento and 21 Grams did it and I've allows been indifferent to it but I liked it here. (I'm not knocking Memento. Calm down)

Bad:
Cheri Oteri and French Stewart. They sucked. I hate them.
Bill Pullman. I don't know what the hell he did for the first 1.10 of the movie except piss me off. I don't know why but I expected better. I don't know why.

Rating:
V V V

I would say see it but it's more of a Mike V movie. I like these suspense thrillers.

Sadistic pleasure (if you’re a sadists)

.

Im a huge fan of Tarantino, have all his movies. I love how he can make you care for a character or at least love every word their saying. Part of the problem with this new movie is unless you speak German & French you will have a hard time loving the language because your just reading for long 20 minute stretches. The movie is worth seeing. I give it 3 stars, but there are some flaws.
The new movie by Tarantino is fun is burst. Long sections were your just waiting around is over half the running time. The film is really a bate and switch. You think from the ads that your going to get guys on the mission. But the real mission is to see how much aimless talking he can make you sit threw. I don’t think this is going to go over well with the average movie patron.
Also most of the characters just aren’t that great, with the main villain and Pitt being the real exceptions. The people you want to spend time with are ignored. Only a couple of the Bastards get any back-story or screen time. And you’re forced to focus on people you don’t like. The German sniper is boring and annoying most of the time. The French girl really just gets bulled around and doesn’t say much. The actress character you never come to know or care about.
Make no mistake there is a sense of fun and vitality here. I just feel like their also personal ego and sadistic desires that Tarantino is working out. These long scenes are all about control. The villains have it and the good side has none. By extension Tarantino has control and we the audience have little. When he wants to be entertaining he’s the best. All the sections with Pitt are awesome. In this movie thought he also wants to use his clout to prove and point that doesn’t need to be proven. Your great we got it, how much more do you want. Give us great characters and lets keep it moving. Movies like Kill Bill & Pulp Fiction are overflowing with ideas. This seems to be stuck in a rut for long sections.

Deli by Delorean

This shit comes on everytime i start my car, my ipod is a demon, and i end up listening 3 times at least.

To my revisionist headphones, this sounds like a mid-nineties hug done the right way for some reason.

Didn't realize lee already dropped this. this shit is delicious.

A friend in need

I heard rick's laid up with a bum knee. Though luck.

Anyway, i figure i'd be the first to say i'm here for you, and i hope the rest of you will join in.

I know it's going to be tough, since you can't work, you're going to have a hard time paying your bills. Don't worry dude- you live with two awesome guys, and i'm sure they'll understand if the rent's a little late. I'm sure they know, just like i know, that as soon as your healed up you'll be hard at work again.

In the meantime i suggest taking it easy. Have you thought about watching a few movies or something? You've got netflix, right? Also, you're gonna have to tighten that food budget since yr not working. Maybe you can try eating a frozen pizza at home instead of going out and eating with the guys. It may take some getting used to, but you'll adapt i'm sure.

Finally, i would suggest spending more time in your room- it's nice and warm up there, and that's good for an injured joint. Also, you won't have to have lee or chris carry you up the stairs when you have to poop and pee. If you have to hang out downstairs, try riding your mattress down. Bonus on that- you'll have a place to sleep at the bottom.

Okay, well just know that we are here for you. We've got you.

Oh, have you considered calling your parents and asking them for help with the rent and whatnot? I'm sure they'd understand since your hurt.

Try this out

Got lee and then me wrapped up for hours.

Was I ever on time for anything ever?

Happy B-Day Addy!

anyway, there's some music videos after the jump.
Music even a one year old could appreciate.

I heard this band on the kcrw, really late at night. I got really into it, and since they were from LA I wrote them, told them how i heard their song, and asked them to come play a show. Not realizing at the time that I had already mixed them live a few months prior. I guess I was more in the mood when it came on the radio...it was later..

This song may not sound too impressive at first. It's hard to find any really good live clips of these guys, but if you take into account that this is being filmed in a record store then it's pretty damn good. I saw them play in san diego at pink. I guess cause of the small crowd, they decided to just play acoustic from a booth/table. For me and the other 15 people crowded around the booth, sitting on the floor, it was a super special treat. I use it as an example when my bosses try to stop me from letting bands set up in the bathroom at soda. If you're into downloading things... I suggest the song "reservoir park". oh yeah, this is someplace called criminal records in atlanta. Anybody been there? cool? no?

I just heard that mazzy star is getting back together. Garth Algar told me.

I remember this song coming on the radio in the office all the time when I first moved out to san diego. I would hang up on customers when it came on.

What the fuck am I doing up? Can you tell from my song selection that it's 4 in the morning?
