behind the times

been enamored with all the bootlegs, mixtapes, whatever, never actually listened to The Carter II in it's entirety. i'm assuming i'm way behind the times, but i present to you Shooter, a song that made me stop in my tracks and repeat it five times in a row on the headphones today. Between all the crazy shit going on in the production, and the fact lil wayne ALMOST adjusted his flow and put effort into this shit, fuck it. this shit is wild. it gave me the tingly giddy feeling i don't feel so often anymore in regards to music. if you already knew and don't care, give it another go, if you aren't hip, listen to this shit, you'll cream your panties. rule #1, finish it off with some horns and you're done, son.

okay so i don't see the point in worrying if one is behind the times....it's something that happens to me quite often, as i tend to absorb music slowly, realiative to say chris, lee, or rick that is. i wouldn't say this a good or bad thing, just a thing.

i absorb music more quickly than say pete or crazy jesse, however they've both written music, something i've only flirted with. it's just a matter of when, and if, something strikes you. we've all been given cd's by one another that we've cherished, others we've listened to once, and others that we grew to love only after ignoring for years. to me music is to be enjoyed first and analyzed second; to me listening to something simply for the sake off analysis is pointless.

i havn't heard that new devin the dude, but would like too. and having said all of this, I TOLD YALL WEEZY WAS THE SHIT.

If there is not a time, a moment, a feeling, or a smell that exists with the music...than I haven't heard it.

that's robin thicke, Alan Thicke from the T.V. show Growing Pains real son. Alan Thicke was and is a lifelong musician, even writing the theme sock for that show, Robin Thicke grew up with that mentality and didn't opt for the acting path. Making albums for years and years, and actually Justin Timberlake is more like the fake Robin Thicke, having contact even before Timberlake went off on the solo tip. He's done a bunch of production for other peoples albums, and the track for this song actually has it's beginning on one of his albums from 2003. He had a hit single on R&B radio maybe 6 months back that people made a big deal out of because it was a 30 something yr old white man making popular R&B, particularly at a time when you can't even get it on the radio without some P.Diddy verse or ying yang twins growling in the background.
